Unilever Bangladesh , UK Government & others award grants of BDT 10 million

TRANSFORM, led by Unilever, the UK Government, and EY, has awarded grants of up to BDT 10 million each to two Bangladeshi SMEs tackling climate challenges.

Deshifarmer, an agri-tech platform, connects smallholder farmers to consumers directly, reducing food waste, increasing farmer income, and offering safe, traceable food.

Techno Plastic Solution is set to pilot a project targeting plastic waste in Kuakata, focusing on discarded fishing nets and PET bottles with a capacity to collect 100 tonnes monthly.

Launched in October 2023, the Bangladesh Climate Challenge identifies and supports local enterprises fostering climate resilience through funding and business expertise.

The program is the first local collaboration of Unilever, the UK Government, and EY in Bangladesh and follows similar initiatives in India and East Africa.

TRANSFORM has supported over 125 projects globally and continues to drive impact with solutions promoting sustainability, health, and inclusive economies.
