India’s central bank launches Mobile app for faster financial data

Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India on Thursday announced the launch of a mobile app to disseminate financial data to researchers, policy-makers, and the BFSI eco-system.

11,000 data-sets can be tracked by users across varioustime-series data via interactive graphs and charts. Users also have the ability to download these datasets in other formats for purposes of research.

The app, a version of RBI’s Database on Indian Economy supports both Android and iOS devices.

The website of the DBIE (Database on Indian economy) provides detailed information across several indices tracked by the RBI. The app offers researchers the ability to track this data in a simpler manner – allowing users to multiple datasets within minutes. The app also offers macroeconomic data across SAARC member countries to facilitate regional economic comparison.
